Visceral Emotional Relationship

Viscera is the technical word for your organs. Your organs not only do their physiological jobs of digesting food, pumping blood & lymph, liver processing - they also process our emotions. A teacher once said that you could take a brick and grind it up and you could eat it and nothing in your gut would be damaged. But if you take an emotion and swallow that and not express it, it takes energy away from the organ depleting the ability of the organ to do its job. That was said to me in the 1990’s and it has always stayed with me.

When you come into my studio, I put my hand on your head with your back to me. There are many things that I notice. We call it a listening. I ‘listen’ with my eyes, my spidy sense, and hands to feel where your body pulls; if there is heat radiating off your body in a certain way, etc. Going from there I work with the organ to connect to certain parts of the brain. It is a non-verbal way to process this emotional level and integrate with the brain. It can be profound or very simple. It can be in the moment or take a few weeks to process.

For myself, in receiving this work, it can be deeply relaxing. Sometimes it feels deep but not intense or uncomfortable. I have a sense of something deep within myself is integrating, processing, re-organzing.

At the end of this process I generally use flower essence sprays or tinctures to help the mind, body, spirit to integrate. I believe this to be a profound and very important process.

I welcome you to come experience this to help you in your journey of wellness on all levels.
